I miss my grandmother at the strangest times. The woman who taught me everything about make up and men and love has been dead 8 years and there are times i would do almost anything to bring her back. Especially all the times I have made horrible dating choices but that's another story.
Like now. In the new Patente commercials there is a woman who has a gorgeous hairstyle. And I want it. If my grandmother was still alive this would not be a problem. She had a way of making everything around her including hair do what she wanted. She was a woman in control.
Alas, poor me spends hour after hour cursing my hair and screaming, WHY WONT YOU CURL DAMN IT! I remember the times I would sit with my grandmother a she applied every device and creme expertly and it turned out all right. The end of all right is what stands out most in my mind. No matter how bad things were as long as you looked hot everything would be fine was her motto. I would do good to keep that very important lesson in the fore front of my brain. Now I am going to go wrestle with my hair. I WILL have that hairstyle!
